FELINE   ADOPTION   APPLICATION

READ INFORMATION BELOW BEFORE

PROCEEDING WITH THE

All pets are located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine. We are a rescue, not a staffed, funded shelter. We do not allow walk-in's we work strictly on an  appointment  basis only. Appointments are only given once applications have been approved.

We are no longer open for meet and greets on

Saturday afternoons after 1.30pm or Sundays.

Applicants MUST be 21 years or older to adopt a pet from GaDaH

You WILL be required, if approved, to come to the rescue in Sebec, Maine, 04481 where all pets are located, (unless specified in individual bios) to meet the pet to make sure the fit is good for both animal and human. Please be aware of the distance and be willing to make the trip if you want to proceed.

If you rent you WILL need to provide a letter of approval from your landlord/letting agency!

If you have not taken to your pet to the vet for annual wellness exams - you WILL need to explain why in order for us to move forward with your application!

We cannot  / will not process applications if information is missing or incorrect.

BEFORE COMPLETING THIS APPLICATION

  • Call your vets office and give them permission to talk to GaDaH, do this BEFORE you submit the application.
  • You will need 2 or 3 personal references. These need to be people who have known you for a few years and can talk about your lifestyle in general. Speak to them BEFORE you complete the application, find out what times they are available and what is the best number to contact them on. Do not just presume or guess. Your references are the key to your application getting processed quickly.
  • If there is a link for you to click on, it is best to "right click and open in a different window" otherwise your information will be lost!

This is a LONG application,  this is because we take this process seriously and the more information we can gather, the better we are able to be sure it is a right fit for the cat and family. We ALWAYS take our pets back should it not work out, in fact this is written into the adoption contract you will complete if you are approved, however, it is best for pets, families and the rescue if we get it right the first time in finding the purrr-fect forever home. We appreciate you understanding and being part of the solution in saving cats lives.

Please be sure to check your email specifically because if we are not able to respond to receiving the application, we are not able to move forward on processing it. This happens often!

Due to the rescue being extremely busy and not sat at a desk all day - most correspondence, other than application interviews is conducted by email.

We reserve the right to deny an adoption for any reason at our sole discretion.
