STEWART is we believe a border collie mix. He is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, heartworm and tick-disease tested negative and micro-chipped. He has an estimated date of birth of June 2015 and weighs around 40 pounds.

STEWART was saved from Fort Worth Animal Shelter in Texas by a vet tech as he was in really bad shape and needed a blood transfusion to survive. He was missing most of his fur from poor nutrition and high internal parasite load. Needed a blood transfusion to survive.

STEWART was cared for a nurtured back to good health and is now a thriving, happy young boy. STEWART is great with other dogs of all ages and sizes, he will run and chase and play with them to their level and then curl up with them when it is time to rest. STEWART is learning to walk on a leash and this will be something the family must be prepared to work with him on.

STEWART is very affectionate and loves to curl up close, he is gentle and loving and is responsive to commands and so training should not be an issue. STEWART will need a family that is committed to at least basic and advanced obedience training, who will take him on adventures and let him explore the sights, sounds and smells the world has to offer.

STEWART does have a best friend whom he is does offer a lot of comfort to - COWBOY, seen in the pictures.COWBOY was feral when saved by our vet-tech friend and has come a long way, but clearly feels a lot more confident when STEWART is around. It would be wonderful to adopt the boys together if at all possible.

STEWART is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $350.

If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious boy  a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the APPLICATION tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 3-7 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then you complete and submit the contract, make payment and then we can work out the pick up / transport arrangements.

STEWART is located at the rescue in SEBEC, MAINE. We post in states along the east coast where transport is available. This gives our precious saved souls more exposure and once adopted, we are able to save more dogs from the kill shelters in Texas that get 3 days before they are killed.
