Lola was saved from a High Kill shelter in Texas where she had three days to be saved before she would have been killed.
LOLA is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, heart-worm Negative and micro-chipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 9 February 2014 and at the time of rescue weighed around 61 pounds.
LOLA is somewhat wary of people and does have the potential until she is feeling safe and secure that she could try and run off, so extra care and vigilance must absolutely be taken in the first weeks until LOLA is settled and confident with her new family and home environment.
LOLA's temporary foster family in Texas says that LOLA is a gentle and calm girl. She is shy at first but will warm up as she begins to trust you. She walks well on a leash and is potty and kennel trained. She also gets along well with dogs and cats.
LOLA would benefit from an active family who understands the GSD and working dog breed and the their needs. She will need basic and advanced obedience and this is always best done with her new family so all can learn each others personalities, body language, expectations and boundaries for all can be set
LOLA is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $450.
If you are interested in adopting this beautiful soul and giving her the life she needs and deserves our application can be completed and submitted on our website under the APPLICATION tab.

LOLA is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine. We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls.
Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. There is a local hotel in Dover-Foxroft that is pet-friendly (approx 6 miles) and several in Bangor (approx 45 miles). We can occasionally arrange transport for dogs from the rescue to Middletown, CT for a fee, to cover volunteer fuel/expenses for $150. This will be dependent upon our volunteers availability so is not guaranteed.
