WHITNEY was saved from a High Kill shelter in Texas where she had three days to be saved before she would have been killed.
WHITNEY is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed and micro-chipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 8 February 2014 and at the time of rescue weighed around 65 pounds.
WHITNEY was temporarily boarded at our vets in Texas and have said that she is a very sweet girl and everyone that has met her has fallen in love with her. She is gentle and affectionate with a mild temperament.
WHITNEY does have an old injury in that she is missing her back foot, it has gone into a stump and she gets around great with no problems at all.
WHITNEY would benefit from an active family who understands the GSD and working dog breed and the their needs. She will need basic and advanced obedience and this is always best done with her new family so all can learn each others personalities, body language, expectations and boundaries for all can be set
WHITNEY is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $450.
If you are interested in adopting this beautiful soul and giving her the life she needs and deserves our application can be completed and submitted on our website under the APPLICATION tab.

WHITNEY is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine. We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. There is a local hotel in Dover-Foxroft that is pet-friendly (approx 6 miles) and several in Bangor (approx 45 miles). We can occasionally arrange transport for dogs from the rescue to Middletown, CT for a $150 fee, to cover volunteer fuel/expenses. This will be dependent upon our volunteers availability so is not guaranteed.
