BIRDIE was saved from San Antonio Animal Care Services and is currently in a foster home in Texas.

BIRDIE is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, lepto vaccine, de-wormed, heartworm tested negative and micro-chipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 12 September 2013 and at the time of rescue weighed around 60 pounds. We believe that BIRDIE is most likely an ENGLISH SHEPHERD.

BIRDIE foster mums tells me that she is a very gentle sweet girl who just wants to be close to her human friends, but also plays and gets along wonderfully with her foster GSD pack.

BIRDIE seems like more of an English Shepherd, as she has a little bit longer silky hair than her typical German counterpart. She is smart and wants to please, and would make a good Family dog as she is very gentle and affectionate with children.

BIRDIE will benefit from a family that is active that can give her ways to release her energy but to also engage her brain. She needs both mental and physical exercise and needs to be challenged on both. BIRDIE very responsive and will benefit from basic and advanced obedience with her family. This not only helps to strengthen bonds, but also allows both human and dog to learn each others body language and personalities.

BIRDIE is currently located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine, however, we post in states along the east coast where transport is available.this gives our precious saved souls more exposure and once adopted, we are able to save more dogs from the kill shelters in Texas that get 3 days before they are killed.

We love it when families can take a trip to meet the dogs before taking them home, but understand this is not always possible and so work in arranging transport to or closer to families homes. This can come at an additional cost, generally between $100 - $150 and is paid directly to the transport.
