LACEY was saved from San Antonio Animal Care Services on 16th May 2015.

This poor little girl is so sweet and loving even though she has half of her ear missing and the around her tail area she has hair missing and her skin was red sore. She is on antibiotics and pain meds and she is doing great, you would never know anything was wrong with her. The shelter had noted that her rear end was raw possibly due to diarrhea, however, since it is round the base of the tail, I am not sure this would be the reason, but it is being treated and she is definitely doing better.

LACY is happy to be amongst all of the dogs and is often found lying next to one of the bigger German Shepherds. She does play a little bit with the puppies, but I think with her ear it is most likely still painful to play puppy-rough. She is an extremely affectionate pup and anytime she can she will snuggle up close to me.

We do not know what LACEY is mixed with, but we do think she will be a medium / large size dog. The shelter have her as 3 months old, but I wouldn't be surprised if another vet aged her a month or so younger. She is small, but that might just be from malnutrition and not having the proper start to life.

LACEY would be suited to a family that is active since as she grows she will most definitely get more active and would love to go on walks, hikes and any dog activity / sport. LACEY will need basic and advanced obedience training which is best if this is done by all family members so that boundaries, expectations and learning each others body language and personalities

LACEY is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed and micro-chipped. She is too young to be heartworm tested, but has been started on  monthly heart-worm prevention. She will need to be taken to be tested when she is around 9 months old. LACEY has an estimated date of birth of 13 February 2015 and at the time of rescue weighed 5.50 pounds.

LACEY is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $200.
