LYRA was saved from Dallas Animal Services on 15th March 2015.
LYRA is a stunning adult female German Shepherd Dog who does great with other dogs. All of the transporters involved in getting her down to the rescue fell in love with her. She is affectionate and gentle and great with other dogs.
LYRA had tested positive for heartworm disease, however, we had her treated on 17th/18th March and so all is good on that side. So far she has had no issues and is settled back into living with the pack.
LYRA is a friendly girl who, given chance, will be energetic, since she had her heartworm treatment we are keeping her quite for the 4-6 weeks, but after that she will be back to living the wonderful high energy life that German Shepherds lead.
LYRA is looking for a family that understands the needs of the German Shepherd Dog and understands that both mental and physical exercise is needed. She would benefit a family that is active and will take her to different places to let her enjoy and absorb the sights, smells and sounds the world has to offer. LYRA will benefit from basic and advanced training with the family to help form a bond and an understanding of what is expected and guidelines of living together with her new family. Training together also helps both human and dog learn more about each others personalities and body language.
LYRA is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, heart-worm treated, and micro-chipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 10th March 2011 and at the time of rescue weighed around 55 pounds.
LYRA is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $350
