PADME was saved from San Antonio Animal Care Services on 17th February 2015. She had been an owner surrender to the kill shelter, the reason given on the owner surrender form was due to an injury in the family that will take 3 months to recover from and will be unable to care for her.

The family listed that PADME is very active, fearless, playful, escape artist, good with cats and good with dogs. Her favoutire toys are listed as "firewood and electric cords" and she slept in a kennel. It also states she digs under the fence is house and crate trained, scratches at the door, cannot be trusted alone and is kept outside during the day (it does not state where she was kept during the night).

Since she has been at rescue she has been GREAT, she has not tried to escape, not tried to dig out, she does get on great with the other dogs, we do not have cats in rescue so cannot comment on how she is with them. She is playful, she is affectionate, she loves to run around chasing and being chased with the other dogs. She does try to lie next to my bed, or sometimes under it, depending on where the German Shepherds have left any space :).

PADME deserves a family that will take her to different, exciting  places where she can take in the sights and smells of the world. She is a smart girl and so will need mental stimulation as much as she will need physical exercise. I think she would make an outstanding family dog as she is very friendly, not too pushy, she does jump up at times, but she is competing with 50 other dogs for attention and she is very responsive.

PADME will benefit from some training with her new family, this not only sets boundaries and expectations, but also lets both family and PADME learn about each others personalities, body language and such.

PADME is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, heart-worm tested negative and micro-chipped. She has been give a date of birth of 14 February 2014 and at the time of rescue weighed 46 pounds, which I believe will be her average weight.

She looks like she is an Irish Wolf-hound mix, the shelter had her listed as a Scottish Deer-hound, as with all rescue dogs it is impossible to be certain.
