LOBO was saved from Fort Worth Animal Services on 31st January 2015. He had been at the shelter twice before but this time he was an owner surrender. The reason the family gave was because he kept escaping.

His original owner found him.in a ditch when he was a puppy.  LOBO does have a front claw foot, which was apparently a birth defect, where his toes are separated. He used the claw to climb the chain link fence. He went back home then a couple months later his owner had health issues and his wife brought took him to the shelter. He was adopted from the shelter again and then got out from that family and was picked up by Animal Control. He is now safe in rescue and we will be sure to find him a perfect family that has time to spend with him and give him no reason to even want to climb a fence.

LOBO is a very friendly boy, he is very active and jumps very high from a standing position, so it is easy to see that he can escape. LOBO is clealry an active boy and although at times he limps/hobbles on his front leg, his foot causes him no concern and there is no reason for any kind of surgery.

LOBO needs an active family that will not just leave him outside to get up to mischief and find a way of escaping, he needs a family that will be an integral part of his life, who will take him places and spend lots of fun quality time with him. I have no doubt that with his energy he would do great and thoroughly enjoy activities such as agility - he has a very high jump and clearly enjoys his energy.

LOBO does need basic training and would benefit from a family who is willing to take the time to educate and train with him, a great way to bond and set boundaries and for each other to learn body language, voice tone and over-all personalities.

LOBO does jump up a lot at the moment so families with small children would have to be cautious of this and make his jumping up a priority to work on, he is very responsive and I do not see it taking very long with the correct training and guidance.  We do not have cats at the rescue so are unable to comment as to how he is with cats.

LOBO is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, tested NEGATIVE for heart-worm disease and is mirco-chipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 28 May 2012 and currently weighs (January 2015) around 55 pounds.

LOBO is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $350.
