SHERLOCK was saved from San Antonio Animal Care Services, a high kill shelter, with a fractured pelvis and paralyzed front leg.

With vet care, treatment and lots of TLC by me and the GaDaH pack, SHERLOCK made an amazing recovery. His pelvis fracture healed and he regained movement in his front leg. However, his leg does not function normally, he does use it for balance and support and playing, but he is not able to walk on it like a 4 legged dog. He has seen several vets and all agree that there is no need to amputate it.

He would benefit from a family that can take him swimming just to help the muscle in his leg as it is not as strong as his other leg, due to his leg not being used as much.

SHERLOCK was adopted out to a lovely family in OKLAHOMA, near TULSA, however, sadly due to unforeseen personal circumstances they are no longer able to keep him.

SHERLOCK has an amazing personality that everyone loves, considering he has suffered as he has, he has the biggest love of life. He loves to ride in the car, he has been great at the groomers, and naturally everyone fell in love with him - his injury just draws people to him and he just laps up all the love and affection.

He currently lives with a 14 year old cat that torments him, he plays with her for a while, but when she starts to let him know she is boss, he leaves her alone and finds something else to do. His owner does however, recommend a home with no cats!

SHERLOCK still has a puppy personality and although he has had some basic training it would benefit him and his new family to go back to basics so that they can work and learn together, setting boundaries and guidelines and learning each others expectations, temperaments and personalities.

Whilst at the rescue SHERLOCK lived amongst 50 other dogs of all ages and sizes and did great, even when he was recovering from his injury. He loves humans and really would prefer to hang out with his human than play with the dogs. With correct training and guidance I believe he would make an outstanding emotional support/therapy dog.

SHERLOCK is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, heart-worm negative, micro-chipped and is used to living in a home with young children visiting. He is an adult male and so weighs around 65-75 pounds. He has a date of birth of around 30 September 2013.

SHERLOCK is a very able dog and can keep up playing and having fun with other dogs.

SHERLOCK is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $350
