LUCY was saved from GARLAND Animal Services, where she was due to be killed. She has recently had pups, although no pups were found when the animal control picked her up. 

LUCY weighed 60.9 pounds when she was released from the shelter, but needs to fill out a little for her to be at her ideal weight.

LUCY was flown to GaDaH courtesy of the amazing pilots of "Pilots n Paws" and ur friendly pilot reported that she was ok during the flight, even though it was rough.

LUCY is a very sweet girl, who gets on great with the other dogs, however, if she has a chew, she will ensure that the pups know to leave her be. 

LUCY has been abused as she cowers, and blinks her eyes if you go to stroke or pet her when she isn't expecting it. She will also cower at the sound of a raised voice. She has shown no signs of aggression towards me, or any of the other 20 dogs that she is living with, apart from the odd warning growl to leave her be when she has her chew, which all of the dogs and pups do.

LUCY has a very laid back temperament, although she is now settling in more and becoming more confident around the pack, she is starting to enjoy the toys. The first night I had put her in a pen, however, within minutes she had climbed out. 

I do believe that at some point LUCY has been with a family as she came upstairs, got on my bed and curled up beside me, however, when my dogs came up, she growled at them, so she was taken back downstairs.

LUCY needs a family that will give her lots of love and attention that she needs, but also has the time for her to give them all her love and affection. She has already shown signs of devotion and will be the perfect new family member, playmate and watchkeeper when she finds that perfect family.

I have not seen LUCY around children yet, however, seeing how she is amongst the pack, as long as the children understand dogs have their boundaries and need their space too, and LUCY is shown the same of children, I do not think she would be any problem. However, she would need to be monitored until this has been confirmed.

AKASHA , as all GSDs is going to be very intelligent, she will be easy to train, as she is willing and eager to please, however, the basic sit, down and stay will not be enough - GSDs have a great mind (think of all the jobs these dogs can do) and so she will not only need physical exercise, but mental exercise too. Games, hide and seek, puzzles anything where she has to use her mind, and if it involves lots of interatcion with humans and/or other dogs this would be perfect.AKASHA's adoption donation is $250, however, if she was adopted with another GaDaH dog/puppy, then a $50 discount per dog will be applied. This will of course only happen if the family is sure they can afford the expense of two amazing dogs.
