Sugar was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Texas and safely arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine on Friday, 5th December 2025. She’s now warm, safe, and patiently waiting for the family who will love her forever. 

We post our adoptable dogs across the East Coast and Canada so we can reach as many amazing adopters as possible and match each dog with their perfect home

Please note: We do not transport dogs.

Approved adopters will schedule an appointment for a meet-and-greet at People 'n' Pets, Freeze Dried Goodies & Gear in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, where you’ll get to meet Sugar in person — and hopefully take home your new best friend.

We do not know the exact breed of our dogs. It is the adopter’s responsibility to review photos and information provided, determine what breed(s) they believe the dog may be, and ensure they have the lifestyle, space, and means to care for the dog properly.

• Applications processed only for families ready to adopt Sugar within 1–10 days

• Once approved, you’ll be invited to schedule a meet-and-greet with Sugar
