Meet AVERY!
AVERY was saved with her brother and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine on September 1st, 2024, at just under 3 months old. Both pups were adopted together on October 20th, but sadly returned to the rescue on March 31st, 2025.

Initially confused, Avery settled back in quickly. After a few weeks, she and her brother were placed in separate kennels to help prepare them for individual adoption.

Great with other dogs but does not like to share food or toys
Lived with cats and would playfully chase them if they ran
️ Participated in our Let's Go for a Walk Doggy Day Out program and stayed a few days with a family — they said she was very affectionate and did great overall
Protective of food and toys — would do best as the only dog or with monitored feeding and toy time
