Patricia was saved from a dog meat farm (Cow Farm) in South Korea as a young pup with her 6 siblings - they were some of the lucky ones. She is fully vetted and weighs around 25 pounds and has an estimated date of birth of 8 August 2021.

Patricia was adopted in August 2022, with her best friend COLT, however, the family brought them back in December saying it wasn't working out. Colt has since been adopted and Patricia is here waiting for her forever family.

Patricia can be a little apprehensive when she meets people and will stand back and bark, but once she sees that the people are safe and ok, she will come up for kisses and her ears scratched, it is important to not try and force people on her, but let her make her own judgement and feel comfortable before interaction, which is true for any dog.

Patricia is a high energy girl, who loves to run, she does have prey drive and will chase after squirrels or wildlife and she loves to run around the fence, bouncing like a lamb when she is happy. She is great with other dogs of all ages and sizes, her best friend Cold was just under 100 pounds and she gave him a run for her money. She loves to go for walks and hikes and being outdoors and gets excited if she see's a leash. She needs an active, loving family and one that understands that initially she will just need a little time to adapt and trust, but when trust is gained she will be your best friend, sneaking up on the bed and doing super happy zoomies all the time.

Her background:

Patricia was adopted from South Korea Dogs (SKD) to a family living in NY arriving at JFK on 3 March 2022. However, the hustle and bustle and the noise of living in an apartment was too much, too soon for Patricia and although she was happy and confident with her family, sudden or loud noises would her her trembling and sometimes losing control of her bowels. The family reached out to South Korea Dogs for help and they in turn contacted Give a Dog a Home Rescue to see if we could help take this girl in. Patricia arrived at the rescue on 21 March 2022, just 19 days from her arrival in the US.

Patricia is a small Jindo mix, she is spayed, rabies, age appropriate vaccines, heartworm & tick disease tested negative. She weighs around 24 pounds and has an estimated date of birth of 8 August 2021.

PREVIOUS INFORMATION

She has been at the rescue a week now and has settled in wonderfully - she is more confident and happiest with other dogs, so we are a looking for a family who either already has another dog, or who is interested in adopting her best friend COLT, a 60+pound Dutch Shepherd mix, who is also Brindle and in the pictures with her.

She does get nervous around new people and new things, so she needs a family that understands to go slow. She is very affectionate and will give gentle kisses and cuddle up for belly-rubs and ear scratches.

Patricia is a sweet and snuggly 7-month-old Jindo-mix who loves going on hikes and chasing birds. She enjoys long walks, but once she’s home she’s a couch potato! She will gladly snooze next to you through your Zoom calls and nudge you for a quick snuggle.

Patricia would do best in a quiet home with no young children or other small animals. Patricia has become friends with just about every dog she has met and is eager to play with them. She might be happiest with another energetic doggie pal, but could certainly thrive with only the love and exercise of a caring owner. Patricia is still learning to trust people and is nervous of strangers and will need some patience to make her comfortable around new people. Patricia is a bit timid; a gentle voice and a comforting hand will bring out her silly and energetic personality.

Patricia is happiest on a walk with a big stick in her mouth where she will proudly march along with and show off. She is quickly learning to walk well on a leash.

Patricia is heartworm negative and weighs a healthy 24lbs! She has been doing great with potty training but would have the best success with keeping her on scheduled breaks so she doesn’t have accidents. She has begun crate training but is not ready to be left in a crate just yet. She has quickly learned what she can and cannot chew and is a big fan of gnawing on chew toys.

·       Bring her to a pile of fresh dirt because this girl loves to dig.
