LADY  was saved from one of the shelters we work with in Texas with her sister SKYE whom she is bonded with. She is SPAYED, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, heart-worm and tick-disease tested; Negative and micro-chipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 3 December 2016 and has an estimated current weight of 26 pounds.  LADY  was listed as a Labrador / Great Dane. We have no way of knowing the true breed, it is up to you to decide what you think she breed/s is.

WE ARE LOOKING TO ADOPT LADY & SKYE TOGETHER!

LADY is great with all of the dogs here at the rescue. She loves to run, chase and wrestle with the dogs, although she generally plays and follows her sister SKYE around. She enjoys chewing on hooves and Kongs when she is having quiet time. She will take her blanket outside when she wants to lie outside and watch the world go by. She is very affectionate and loves to have her belly rubbed and ears scratched.  We do NOT have cats on the rescue so I am not in a position to comment on how he will be with cats.

LADY  would suit a relatively active fun family that would take her on adventures and road trips and let her explore the sights, sounds and smells the world has to offer. She rides great in the car. She would benefit from a family that has the time to work with her on basic and advanced obedience training. By working together both  LADY  and her humans can learn each others body language and personality, expectations and boundaries can be set and with self-training a stronger bond formed.

It is best for an interested family to know and understand the Labrador breed, they are great family pets, but are high energy, they get bored easily and are known to be destructive chewers. Tennis balls don't last long as they will pick them apart. Given tough, appropriate toys, lots of mental stimulation and exercise, LADY will be a great family dog. She has a great personality and her and her sister SKYE keep each other entertained and company, which will in turn, help to prevent boredom.

LADY is located in our kennel building with SKYE and uses the extreme weather dog door to get in and out to her run. She has not had any accidents in the kennel.

We currently feed SPORTMIX Wholesomes Chicken Meal & Rice Formula, a 4* (a per www.dogfoodadvisor.com) GRAIN FREE food along with pro-bioitics and immune support supplements listed on the available dogs page!

LADY  will make a great family addition to an experienced family. She is fun, active and very loving and deserves a good family and home to call her own.

LADY  is available for adoption from Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of US $500.

This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed.

If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious soul a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the APPLICATION tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 2-4 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then you complete and submit the contract, make payment and then we can work out the pick up / transport arrangements.

Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks.

LADY is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine. We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Sebec is located just outside the towns of Dover-Foxcroft and Milo (approx 8 miles) and approx 45 miles from Bangor. There are also lots of hotels, motels, pet friendly accommodations  and wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend. If there are options to arrange transport, we will work with you to make it happen.
