BLEVIN is neutered, core vaccines, rabies, de-wormed, and micro-chipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 7th June 2016 and he weighs around 15 pounds.

BLEVIN was initially adopted from the kill shelter, however, returned a day later as he was too active for the family. BLEVIN being a puppy is a high energy boy, he is curious, he is playful, he is active, he will be teething and so will be starting to chew on things, he will need some house-training and of course he is extremely love-able.

BLEVIN is great with other dogs of all ages and sizes, he is a happy boy who loves humans of all ages, but he does have sharp puppy teeth and does jump up - so small children would need to be watched and monitored. His foster family in Texas does have cats and he didn't really pay any attention to them, that is not to say when he gets a little older he would want to chase and play with cats.

BLEVIN will benefit from an active family, one that has time to spend training him to at least basic and advanced levels. We encourage families to train dogs together so that both dog and humans can learn each other's body language, personalities, boundaries and expectations.

BLEVIN is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $500. This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, any transport fee's we incur, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed.

If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious boy a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the APPLICATION tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 2-4 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then you complete and submit the contract, make payment and then we can work out the pick up / transport arrangements.

Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks.

BLEVIN is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine. We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. There is a local hotel in Dover-Foxcroft that is pet-friendly (approx 6 miles) and several in Bangor (approx 45 miles). There are also lots of wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend.
